Rose Art Museum is located at Brandies University, it is free and open to the public. There’s a small parking area in front of the museum which towards the back of the campus along the loop road. The modern/contemporary collection is among the best in New England. Since Covid- they’ve been mostly spotlighting the permanent collection and you’ll find works from Frida Kahlo to Matthew Barney. A good selection of minimal and color field works as well. It’s a great little museum to check out- a small gallery on the first floor and then some larger rooms downstairs. Plus it’s only 20 minutes from Boston. Thumbs up

Came to see Salman Toor's No Ordinary Love, which was incredible. Overall a wonderful collection and space. Student attendants/staff were wonderful, well-informed and gracious. I feel very fortunate to have access to this kind of institution.

I didn’t know what to expect, my husband found this museum and we quickly secured tickets for the next day on our way out of Boston. I was really delightfully surprised with the eclectic collection of interesting art. The highlight for me was the terrific Frida Kahlo exhibit. Some of the items in the permanent collection were a little bit less accessible/interesting for me but I enjoyed browsing through everything. We probably spent a good two or three hours exploring the museum, and on top of all that it was completely free! How great is that? I did want to add that there is a somewhat strange feeling one may get from being stared at by the guards. I saw this referenced in a couple of earlier reviews. I get it, they need to make sure that people are not touching or getting too close to the art but I’ve been to many museums all over the world and honestly never had this feeling of being stared at.

Small but very quality works and presentation/display around rotating themes. Plan to spend up to an hour unless there is something specific you are interested in. The Rose is much more than a small university art museum home for donated works. Be sure to register (free) on line before visiting.

Really lovely museum - diverse collection of modern art. Currently a special exhibit on Frida Kahlo. One of the few university museums to open up with precautions. You must sign up on line - with only 20 people admitted per hour, good social distancing. Masks required. Parking nearby and very easy in the summer. Admission is free, donations accepted at the door but no pressure. 💜🧡💙💚
